WACTE – Washington Association of Colleges for Teacher Education
“The Mission of Washington Association of Colleges for Teacher Education is to provide leadership on issues related to professional education, with a primary focus on teacher education.” The WACTE works to “promote effective public policy regarding professional education; enhance and improve professional education programs at member institutions; enhance the professional effectiveness of members; and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion within the professional education community. “ WACTE communicates with the AACTE to fulfill their mission and work.
AACTE – American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education
The primary purpose of The American Association of College for Teacher Education (AACTE) is to work on educator preparation. The AACTE represents over 800 post-secondary institutions with educator preparation programs. AACTE’s Mission is to “elevate education and educator preparation through research, professional practices, advocacy, and collaboration”. The three priorities of AACTE are to advocate for high-quality educator preparation; promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; and advance educator preparation policy, practice, and research.
AILACTE – Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher Education
The AILACTE is a committee built from members who belong to institutions at the nation, state, and campus levels. The AILCATE primary works on teacher education and collaborates with other teacher education associations to strengthen teacher education programs. The AILACTE committee works together to share concerns, issues, and viewpoints related to teacher education.
CAEP – Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation
The CAEP primary purpose is to work on educator preparation accreditation and standards. CAEP mission is to “advances equity and excellence in educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning”. The CAEP consists of serval committees to fulfill their mission. The committees in CAEP include Executive, Bylaws and Policy, Nominating, Audit, Equity and Diversity, Research, and Specialized Standards Committee.
